Born and raised in Coral Springs, Blaine DeBerry is a South Florida based artist with a passion for using the arts as a medium for teaching empathy. Originally a martial artist, with a first-degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and a second-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, Blaine developed a strong moral philosophy and physical discipline that he brings to every room he steps into.
At the age of 14, he began teaching martial arts at USK Karate Academy, honing his communication and coordination skills through working with students both old and young. At the age of 17, Blaine decided to expand his horizons and pursue a path that, in his heart, he had always seen before him: performance. Now, with his BFA in Theatre Performance from Florida Atlantic University, Blaine continues to develop and perfect his craft. As an actor, singer, guitarist, writer, you name it, Blaine continues to bring his martial artist approach to his creative process.
He is incredibly honored and excited to bring said approach to the BARCLAY family! First appearing on stage as THE COOK in MATILDA, Blaine has been a part of the BARCLAY family for four years, and has featured since in many other BARCLAY productions. Most-recently, he was seen as AVI in TAP DANCING THROUGH AUSCHWITZ, as well as PHINEOUS TROUT in Willy Wonka! Other recent credits include RENT (MARK COHEN), SCHOOL OF ROCK (NED SCHNEEBLY/DEWEY U/S), and STONE SOUP (WIZZEL/HUGGUMS)! He cannot wait to help BARCLAY continue to support and inspire all who walk through its doors.
BARCLAY Performing Arts produces children’s, community, and professional theatre as well as offering performing arts classes and camps for all ages.
