James Schmid is a world leading Voice Teacher and Performance Mentor specializing in Pop, Musical Theater and Opera. Performing since 2nd grade, James has been working in the entertainment industry for almost two decades. James continued to study voice at the University of Michigan and Florida State University for his undergraduate and master’s degrees in Voice Performance.

Throughout his training, James developed a passion for Pop and Musical Theater. James’s personal performance career has taken him from The Sydney Opera House, Portugal, Germany, France, Disney World, and more. While James’s students have performed on the Top 40 Charts, Hamilton, Annie, Mean Girls the Musical, and many more. James specializes in a scientific and physical approach to vocal training, accompanied with personalized designing of performance habits. He brings the techniques and skills used with his professional students expertly to students of all ages. He has taught over 40 collegiate credit hours and has taught hundreds of students from age 6 to Professionals. James’s students have been accepted to Beaumont University, Manhattan School of Music, FSU and more for continued education.

He believes in setting professional goals with all students and delivering a tangible path towards personal goal achievement. James has developed techniques using Spectrogram Analysis to assist lessons specializing in Pop, Musical Theater and Opera. Through a mentorship minded approach, he collaborates to determine the best unique approach for students through science and art. He believes in guiding students towards opportunities in School, on Screen, and on Stage!
