Program Description

“Our top performers, many of whom go onto professional productions and careers in theatre, have all had solid acting technique in their repertoire. No matter the talent, it is nothing without the skill. We have an original Acting Curriculum developed in house that has adapted and grown, with every new student, class, and even world event-which BARCLAY Performing Arts is proud to present. With an incredible focus on using Voice for the Actor, with techniques from Fitzmaurice and Linklater-being able to combine it into Speech with diction, Shakespearean methods as well as some emphasis on Accents, this class brings approaches to Acting from all around the Globe; this includes Movement used in Stage Combat and Chekhovian techniques, as well as Stanislvaski, Meisner, Uta Hagen, and originally developed approaches to the craft. Aimed at longevity, creativity, expression, and opening paths to being the most confident and grounded person you could possibly be, as well as giving tools toward approaching this as a career. This class, uniquely developed and designed to create our own pieces, we shall come together to help create our own ideas, stories and collaborations TOGETHER. The show is only as strong as the ensemble. They will learn character building, costuming, props-mastering and more! This is the first time BARCLAY Performing Arts has offered an Acting Class in this format, so come and be a part of history! Be a part of the family. Sign up today!”
