Program Description

Our voices are some of the most dynamic and versatile tools we have. Muscle, bones and energy all meet to produce a vibration with breath that can release emotions, anthems, and stories…all before we even add words! When singing pop-rock music, you want a basic, solid, healthy technique, but your abilities need to blossom when it comes time to strut your stuff onstage. You can try dance and sing along with your favorite video, and you find that it takes skill to sing well when you’re dancing full out. Because the sounds rock singers make are often scratchy and close to screaming, when singing rock you need to be aware of how to keep making the funky sounds that we adore without causing damage to their voice. Screaming too much for too long in concerts can tax the voice and cause fatigue, strain, and tone changes. To prevent damage, singers can use resonance to create sounds that they normally make by screaming. This class is such a unique training approach in Performing Arts, and something you definitely want to take advantage of having when you are stepping into modern musical theatre, or even just wanting to sing some of the coolest songs out there! Take your stuff to the next level. Join the family. Sign up today!
