Christine Barclay

Founder, Owner & Artistic Director

Christine, originally from Boston Massachusetts, received her BA in Theatre with a double concentration in Performance and Direction from Muhlenberg College. After graduation, Christine moved to New York City and worked as a Director/Choreographer for Tada! Youth Theatre and the Lucy Moses School at the Kaufman Center. She was the Executive Assistant to Marc Tuminelli, founder of The Broadway Workshop (nominated Best Theatre Program in NYC) and was a resident member of the theatre faculty for the Rodeph Sholom School in Manhattan. Christine performed,  directed, and choreographed for multiple theaters and schools throughout the city including The Kew Forest School and The Looking Glass Theatre, where her directorial work was lauded by the New York Times as one of the company’s production “highlights”.


In 2012, Christine moved to Florida where she wore many hats at the nationally acclaimed and award-winning StarStruck Academy & Theatre. Her favorite performance credits include CAN CAN (Pistache), and BYE BYE BIRDIE (Kim Macafee). In addition to acting she has director, choreographed, stage-managed and performed in countless productions throughout New York City, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, and Pennsylvania. She currently has students on Broadway, National & International Tours, attending BAK Middle School, Dreyfoos High School, and almost every top tier performing arts university & college in the country.


Christine founded BARCLAY Performing Arts in January of 2016 and dedicates her company to the memory of her late and amazing Director Dad who always found a way to bring out the very best in each and every person, whether on the stage or behind the scenes.


Assistant Artistic Director & Acting Teacher/Coach

Om is the Acting Teacher & Coach for BARCLAY Performing Arts. He is a Guyanese-American performer that has appeared in productions all across South Florida. Born in New York, he moved to Florida with the mission to “provide an escape for those who cannot free themselves” through his Art. He has a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Florida Atlantic University with a Fitzmaurice Concentration in Voice. You might recognize him from FAU’s THE RIVALS or MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR, Microtheatre Miami’s THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DAY ON EARTH, JCC Boca’s A SHAYNA MAIDEL (Duvid) or Aaron Kula’s MY FAIR LADY: IN CONCERT (Colonel Pickering). He has extensive training in Meisner, Stanislavski and Chekhov (Leonard Petite) techniques along with training in Movement, Stage Combat (Leonard Soroko), and Voice (Fitzmaurice, Linklater).


Om has performed in numerous BARCLAY productions, including HAIR (Berger), ASSASSINS (Lee Harvey Oswald), and RAGTIME (Booker T. Washington). As our Resident Acting Coach, Jae has assisted with a number of BARCLAY productions and was honored to direct BARCLAY’s production of TAP DANCING THROUGH AUSCHWITZ. He thanks Christine for the opportunity to do what he loves, allowing him to bring a little light into a world that needs it now more than ever.


Operations Manager

Jason was born and raised in Miami, FL. Jason graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelors degree in Theatre. He is trained in multiple aspects of theatre ranging from set construction all the way to acting and directing. Jason has found success in the South Florida theatre scene performing in shows and films as far north as West Palm and as far south as Miami. Some favorite performances include VENUS and THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS IS CARIOT (Simon), along with TAP DANCING THROUGH AUSCHWITZ (Jared), ASSASSINS (The Balladeer), JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (Peter), ROCKY HORROR (Rocky) and HAIR (Woof) at BARCLAY Performing Arts. Jason has two independent films under his belt: THE EVENING SHIFT, which can be found on Youtube, and THE DEATH PLEDGE. Jason has been assisting Christine since the end of 2017. Jason was an assistant director for NOISES OFF and SPRING AWAKENING and a production assistant for SEUSSICAL KIDS, LEGALLY BLONDE, SPRING AWAKENING, PIPPIN, and MARY POPPINS. Jason adds his knowledge, love, and passion for film and theatre with the entire BARCLAY family, and all the newcomers who decide to walk through the studio doors.


General Manager & Piano Teacher

Martyna Reczka is a Polish-American Actress as well as an Educator in Music. She started playing piano at the age of 7 and fell in love with it ever since. She has played multiple recitals at the American-Polish Club in Lake Worth and recently performed in A PARK IN OUR HOUSE (Ofelina) and the Pulitzer Prize winning musical NEXT TO NORMAL (Doctor Fine) at Florida Atlantic University, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a Concentration in Musical Theatre. Martyna’s BARCLAY debut was with our Semi-professional production of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR! Since joining the company, Martyna has assisted with a number of BARCLAY productions.


Being a well rounded artist, Martyna makes sure her teaching methods are not only engaging and knowledge filled, but also fun! Martyna loves kids and music and is beyond grateful for the opportunity to put her two passions together. Teaching at BARCLAY has been nothing but joy and love for her since she began working at the studio in 2017!


Musical Director

Ed has been the Music Director for BARCLAY since it’s first show in 2016! Over the past 40 years he has been a music director, organist, pianist, freelance keyboardist, accompanist, arranger and choral director. He has worked on shows including The Wizard of Oz, Hello Dolly, Mame, Annie, The Sound of Music, Oliver, Mass by Leonard Bernstein, The Music Man, Little Shop of Horrors, and Beauty and The Beast. He also regularly serves as an accompanist/coach for numerous professional, amateur, and student vocalists and instrumentalists in the South Florida area.


Scenic Consultant

Chris Evans is a New Yorker who went to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he received a BA in Scenic Design. He has spent over 20 years working in television, film and theatre. His work includes Dawson’s Creek, Elmo in Grouchland and promos for HBO, as well as running his own theatre company, and designing and building sets for more than 100 plays including Singin’ in the Rain, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Little Shop of Horrors, 9 to 5, Grease, Shrek, Legally Blonde, The Drowsy Chaperone and Aladdin Jr. He now works as the full time Scene Shop Manager at Florida Atlantic University.
