CHRISTINE BARCLAY

FOUNDER, OWNER & ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

  Christine, originally from Boston Massachusetts, received her BA in Theatre with a double concentration in Performance and Direction from Muhlenberg College. After graduation, Christine moved to New York City and worked as a Director/Choreographer for Tada! Youth Theatre and the Lucy Moses School at the Kaufman Center. She was the Executive Assistant to Marc Tuminelli, founder of The Broadway Workshop (nominated Best Theatre Program in NYC) and was a resident member of the theatre faculty for the Rodeph Sholom School in Manhattan. Christine performed, directed, and choreographed for multiple theaters and schools throughout the city including The Kew Forest School and The Looking Glass Theatre, where her directorial work was lauded by the New York Times as one of the company’s production “highlights”.

  In 2012, Christine moved to Florida where she wore many hats to continue her journey, leading to some of her favorite performance credits; including CAN CAN (Pistache), and BYE BYE BIRDIE (Kim Macafee). In addition to acting she has directed, choreographed, stage-managed and performed in countless productions throughout New York City, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, and Pennsylvania. She currently has students on Broadway, National & International Tours, attending BAK Middle School, Dreyfoos High School, and almost every top tier performing arts university & college in the country.

  Christine founded BARCLAY Performing Arts in January of 2016 and dedicates her company to the memory of her late and amazing Director Dad who always found a way to bring out the very best in each and every person, whether on the stage or behind the scenes.

As our Resident Acting Coach, Jae has assisted with a number of BARCLAY productions and was honored to direct BARCLAY’s production of TAP DANCING THROUGH AUSCHWITZ and ROMEO AND JULIET.   Ed has been the Music Director for BARCLAY since it’s first show in 2016! Over the past 40 years, Mr. Kolcz has been a Music Director, Organist, Pianist, freelance Keyboardist, Accompanist, Arranger and Choral Director. He has worked on shows including (but not limited to) The Wizard of Oz, Hello Dolly, Mame, Annie, The Sound of Music, Oliver, Mass, The Music Man, Little Shop of Horrors, and Beauty and The Beast. He also regularly serves as an accompanist/coach for numerous professional, amateur, and student vocalists and instrumentalists in the South Florida area. Ed is proud to say that he has worked on over 50 shows with Christine, Music Directing, teaching, and even playing live for! Ed has his own children that are also musicians, and enjoys cultivating talent of all ages. As long as he has his iced coffee, nothing can stop him!

  Jason was born and raised in Miami, FL. Jason graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelors degree in Theatre. Soon thereafter, he has found success in the South Florida theatre scene performing in shows and films all across Florida. Some favorite performances of his include VENUS and THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS IS CARIOT (Simon), along with TAP DANCING THROUGH AUSCHWITZ (Jared), ASSASSINS (The Balladeer), JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (Peter), & ROCKY HORROR (Rocky). Jason has two independent films under his belt as well, THE EVENING SHIFT & THE DEATH PLEDGE.

  Jason has been with Christine since the end of 2017, and was an Assistant Director for NOISES OFF and SPRING AWAKENING. Jason is also the ‘Manny Extraordinaire’, taking Caroline (Christine’s 2-year old daughter/BARCLAY Mascot) into his own arms to help babysit, teach & bring along to accompany him in his many duties both on and off site. Jason has also been a long time teacher at Arts4Learning, where he is an authenticated and approved Instructor for Florida, as well as many other states. His skills do not stop in the classroom, he has also personally had a literal hand in the building of all the sets, props, and costumes of the productions-but also the wall, floors and equipment of the studio itself! Jason is truly a man of many trades, and with a heart of gold and a smile like that-you can not say BARCLAY Performing Arts without Jason “Marie” Pierre.

RESIDENT CHOREOGRAPHER & DANCE INSTRUCTOR

  Sara Perry Beneventano was born and raised in South Florida, and has been performing in Broadway & Regional Theatre productions and Touring companies since the age of six! She serves as the resident Choreographer for Olympic Heights High School and BARCLAY Performing Arts and is the Music Teacher at Del Prado Elementary School. Sara is currently an adjunct professor at Lynn University, teaching Applied Dance in the Theatre department, where she recently held the title of Director.

  Amanda Lund is the newest addition to the BARLCAY Team and recently graduated from Barry University’s Music Department, earning her Bachelor’s in Music with a specialization in Vocal Performance alongside a minor in Business Management. Amanda has taught a wide range of age levels, focusing on voice and vocal performance. She is also an avid performer herself, with a wide range of roles such as Tzeitel in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, a two-role track in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS as Audrey II and Chiffon, and Anita in our very own WEST SIDE STORY! At the 2019 London Music Theatre Academy, Amanda received a lead role in the original production of Mad Hatter: The Musical, which premiered at the Leicester Square Theater at London’s West End, soon thereafter making her Feinstein’s/54 Below debut in New York City with the concert cast of Secrets: A Spy Musical. Amanda has also a lot of experience on the clerical end, working as a Fine Arts Office Aid and helping with coordinating events, corresponding with guest performers, and song selections with other faculty at her University. She is excited to bring the knowledge she has gained from working with companies such as Miami Music Festival, The Miami International Piano Festival Academy (Program Coordinator), and the Josef Gingold Chamber Music Festival all the way here to Boca Raton. Amanda is pumped and primed to be the ‘right hook’ of the BARCLAY Squad!

MIKAYLA COHEN

  Mikayla Cohen is a local singer, business owner, and performer. She is also a Cum Laude Graduate of Elon University with a degree in Music Theatre. She has performed in various professional theaters all over the country including Mill Mountain Theatre Company and Shawnee Summer Theatre. She has been a decorated instructor in countless summer camps, schools, and even still currently a Coach for Private Voice, Acting, and Dance lessons, as she is a certified Dance Instructor as well! Mikayla is also the proud owner of her own Party Princess Company called LITTLE LIGHT PRINCESS COMPANY, where her mission is to “bring a little light into a seemingly dark time.” Some of Mikayla’s favorite roles include Blinky Fatale in CLOWN BAR, Natalie in NEXT TO NORMAL, Audrey in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS and Veronica in HEATHER’S. She is so excited to finally be able to join the BARCLAY family and find a place to call ‘home’.

  Mikayla Cohen is a local singer, business owner, and performer. She is also a Cum Laude Graduate of Elon University with a degree in Music Theatre. She has performed in various professional theaters all over the country including Mill Mountain Theatre Company and Shawnee Summer Theatre. She has been a decorated instructor in countless summer camps, schools, and even still currently a Coach for Private Voice, Acting, and Dance lessons, as she is a certified Dance Instructor as well! Mikayla is also the proud owner of her own Party Princess Company called LITTLE LIGHT PRINCESS COMPANY, where her mission is to “bring a little light into a seemingly dark time.” Some of Mikayla’s favorite roles include Blinky Fatale in CLOWN BAR, Natalie in NEXT TO NORMAL, Audrey in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS and Veronica in HEATHER’S. She is so excited to finally be able to join the BARCLAY family and find a place to call ‘home’.

  Together, she is looking forward to spreading light to all those who need it.

  As a choreographer, director, costume designer and set designer Daniel’s work has been seen on the stages of numerous Boston-area professional and community theaters, high schools and children’s programs. In addition to performing professionally in Boston, Daniel was in the 2016 National & International tour of the musical ANNIE as Lt. Ward/Ensemble and Dance Captain, Understudying Drake and Bert Healy. Daniel holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory with an emphasis in Directing and Repertoire. Currently, Daniel is the Artistic Director of the Weston Friendly Society in Weston, MA and, as a new Florida Resident, is thrilled to be joining the BARCLAY Team as a Specialty Instructor.
